Dutch Woman Detained Entering Bulgaria on Terror Charges

A 33-year-old Dutch national was arrested while on her entry into Bulgaria on Wednesday, prosecutors say.The woman is sought through a European Arrest Warrant.

‘Arab’ Teenager Stabbed in Downtown Sofia Mall

A 19-year-old has been stabbed by guards in a shopping mall in central Sofia, police say. The incident supposedly took place around 09:00 local time (EET). bTV station quotes guards as saying the teenager tried to steal clothes from one of the stores. The mall itself is located on Aleksandar Stamboliyski Blvd.

A witness has told bTV that “a boy took another boy out a store… and beat him with a metal baton and… a sharp object.”

Berlin Attack Suspect Shot Dead in Italy

Anis Amri, the Tunisian national suspected of crashing a lorry into a Berlin Christmas market on Monday, has been shot dead, FAZ quotes security sources as saying. Italy’s Interior Minister Marco Minniti has confirmed the news in a press conference.

Jaish al-Fatah Assumes Responsibility for Assassination of Russian Ambassador

The armed coalition Jaish al-Fatah has assumed responsibility for the assassination of the Russian Ambassdor in Ankara, reported BNR.

Jaish al-Fatah includes the renamed grouping Jabhat al-Nusra –the Syrian branch of the international terrorist network al-Qaeda.

Earlier, 13 people were arrested in Turkey in relation to the shooting. Six of them are relatives of the gunman Melvut Mert Altintas.

The murder is investigated by a joint Turkish-Russian unit. The Kremlin believes that, “sooner or later”, it will discover the people guilty of the murder of the ambassador emphasised the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reported TASS.

Bomb Attack in Turkish City of Kayseri

Thirteen soldiers have been killed and 48 people wounded in a car bomb attack in the Turkish city of Kayseri, reported Reuters.The explosion took place near a bus transporting off-duty military personnel.

Witnesses say that the car was moving near the bus and when it pulled up to it, a blast occurred.The explosion took place near the university in the city, in close proximity to student dormitories.

Turkey’s Police Identifies Two Attackers Responsible for Istanbul Twin Bombing

Anti-terrorist police in Istanbul has identified two of the terrorists responsible for the twin bomb attack in the Turkish capital on December 10 which killed 44 people and wounded hundreds of others, reported Hurriyet newspaper, cited by Focus Agency.

After an investigation of the records from the surveillance cameras, the police managed to establish the movement of the two extremists. One of them came out of a vehicle purchased online and delivered by a third party. According to an examination of the scene, a plastic explosive reinforced with metal bits was placed inside the car and in the vest of the second attacker.

Special Security Measures On Eve of Nationalist Marches in Sofia

Special security measures will be undertaken by Sofia police in relation to the upcoming nationalist marches in the centre of Sofia on Saturday evening.

The protests will be held against illegal migration.

The preliminary plan of the organizers envisages the march to start at 18:00 hrs with Sveta Nedelya Square as meeting point and continue along the route Knyaginya Maria Luiza Blvd and Lavov Most Square.

Filtering points will be erected at the meeting point of the two marches at which police officers will check for prohibited items – weapons, battons, bottles and knives.

Persons who are visibly not sober will not be let through.The streets in the centre of the city through which the nationalists will pass will be closed down in stages.

State Agency for Refugees: There Is No Risk of Mass Infection in Harmanli

The information about a mass infection in the refugee center in Harmanli is not true, said the chairwoman of the State Agency for Refugees Petia Parvanova in an interview with Bulgarian National Radio on November  21.

On Sunday, hundreds of Harmanli residents gathered to protest. According to them, the institutions do not present a true picture of the infections and diseases in the refugee center in the city and there is true risk to their health.

They demanded the resignation of Ms Parvanova and treatened that, if within three days, she does not clarify the truth, the situation will escalate to civil disobedience.

Petia Parvanova said that 3,001 migrants live in the refugee center in Harmanli. All other centres have less than 1,000 people.

Turkey’s Erdogan Calls On NATO To Cooperate with Ankara in Combating Terrorism

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has called on NATO to cooperate with Ankara in combating terrorism, reported BNT.

NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly is taking place in Istanbul. Erdogan stated that Turkey represents a barrier between terrorist organisations and the rest of the world, mostly Europe.

“Let us fortify this barrier instead of weakening it,” said Erdogan who has a meeting with NATO’s Secretary General Stoltenberg on Monday.

According to a sociological survey, cited by the Turkish Akşam newspaper, 64% of Turkish people say “no” to the European Union.
